That's what our hats are like. They should fly naturally over your head, as if they were part of you. And it's from this symbiosis that beauty and all the mystique surrounding the hat emanate. Therein lies the secret. It's not just the hat, it's you and the way you wear it.
Inspiration
Nana's hats are born from a unique gift for capturing the beauty and essence of things. They are made from songs, art, travel, moods... Almost always from nature, in its immensity or in its most minimal expression. From a grand landscape like the Barayo Nature Reserve to the tiny life of moss on a tree trunk or the colors of a rusty wall.
Nana's hypersensitivity allows her to capture countless very subtle stimuli that become engraved in her inner universe and then emanate from her hats. Her creations don't follow a maturation process or pattern-making. Nana lets herself be guided by her hands. Her north star is her imagination.
Handcrafted work brings with it the magic of things ceasing to be things and coming to life, born from the emotions and stories of their creator. Each Nana hat has its own soul and is imbued with a little piece of her being.
Making
Nana designs every piece that leaves our Seville studio. From the creation of the color, shape, and decoration. Everything begins and ends in her hands. Each of her hats is like a canvas to be painted, a whim of natural jewelry that, little by little, comes to life.
Unrepeatable colors, full of nuances and personality; balanced shapes sculpted through caresses, like small sculptures, and sometimes, if the hat calls for it… their geometry ends with a minimalist decoration that always follows a purpose.
The Birth of a Hat becomes an adventure written by Nana, in which every detail is carefully studied and, at the same time, intuition and inspiration mark the course of the process.
-Nana Golmar's production pillars are quality and the drive to become increasingly sustainable. If nature inspires us and provides us with most of the materials we work with, how can we not care for it, how can we not love it? It's a matter of consistency.
Machines are never used in manufacturing because, inevitably, the materials suffer. However, the care that goes into handcrafting means that a hat can have many lives. So, if you buy a Nana Golmar hat and after a while you'd like to change its shape or color, we can completely remake it.
Respect for the environment and conscious purchasing are vital to both us and our customers, which is why we strive to work with minimal inventory and opt for a made-to-order format.
